I am having a VERY difficult time adjusting to these tight 1/2 players.

arty Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K/images/graemlins/heart.gif, A/images/graemlins/club.gif.
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, Hero raises, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls, MP1 calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (10.50 SB) Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (5 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, MP3 bets, Hero...???

at .5/1, I would have been sure a raise was the right play, but my downswing has grown to 50 BB, and I'm very unconfident right now. I almost folded.

Pot odds are close. If you choose to play, raise to protect.

I would choose to raise because alot of players are very passive still at 1/2 so in all likelyhood a raise will get you to see the turn and river card.

I think you have to raise here. Fold to a reraise. If an A or K doesn't hit on the turn, fold if MP3 bets into you.

Raising both helps protect your hand and possibly buys you a free card.

Folding is too passive.

Calling is simply bad play.

Folding to a re-raise on the flop would be bad.

yup if he reraises call with the intentions of folding the turn unimproved.
