I wouldn't fold Hand #114 (44 pocket pair) here. You're a slight favorite if he has two overcards. Furthermore, 11,250 chips is the 75% point, which you dipped under by folding. The reason the 75% point is big is that if the person who's behind goes All-in, gets called, and wins, then he takes the chip lead. I haven't seen any discussion here about that, but it seems important to me.

Some hands like #128 (J6s), i would have called. You had such a big chip lead and you're probably not that big of a dog in the hand, even if he has 2 overcards.

All-in on #143 with A8o seemed a little over aggressive, even though it gave you the chip lead.

I would have bet the Flop on #151 with bottom pair. Granted, it probably would have been called and i don't know if i'm supposed to bet, but i would have.

Your All-in on the last hand with J5o was just bad. No reason to put your life at stake at that point in which you had more than 25% of the chips.

The play in general looks fine. A few hands stood out as "maybe" or "intersting" but nothing looked "wrong"

Nothing wrong with this one, however you continued to raise the same way afterwards.
After someone does this to me, while they are still relatively low stacked, I stick a few all-in rockets up them to remove the option of them doing it again (which he did as it happens)

I fold this one to give the guy a breather.
Whilst you should be winning as many chips as possible, and certainly raising a good % of the time, he now has enough chips to fight back and also is getting the feel of your raises.
Remind him that you fold occaisonally, just to keep some doubt in his mind.

Okay , I think this is the one exception to my introduction.

This stinks of a trap, and I'm not sticking all my chips in here.
Whilst you got away with it, I'm pretty sure you'll lose more often than the odds you are getting here.
Call (Just to stop him doing it again later) and be prepared to get out if it comes T8x or something.

Since there are only 13,500 chips in the game, the 75% point is 10,125 not 11,250. I saw that there were more than 1000 chips each, so i assumed that 10 players started with 1500, not 9.

I am by no means good at HU, but here is my thoughts anyway:
HU is about adjusting to you opponent, not try to follow a specific pattern, you seems to have a pattern, namely raise 3bb with a wide range of hands and follow up by a pot bet regardless of flop. Good thing is that villian picked it up quite late, allowing you to steal his blinds like crazy using 64o. /images/graemlins/smile.gif But once he caught your steal, I would tighten significantly, throw away your 64, even Jx if possible and if you do want to raise, throw some all in instead of 3bb raise for a variation.

He gets lucky sometimes, but he seems to adjust your betting pattern later on, basically since you will automaticly bet pot after raise PF, he would just call or reraise if he hit mid or top pair. You offer him tremendous odds this way, right?

Also, I might call several hands when I have Qx or Jx against his all in of less than 5bb, you got the odds.

A couple things I noticed, and I'm sorry I'm not going back to the exact hand numbers.

When he was short stacked, and coule be making a stand with a WIDE range of hands you layed down Ax, Kx, and Qx. Unless you have a read on this player, he could be pushing here with J10, or Qx. I would have thought of a call, because it was a few amount of your chips compared to the stack, and your probably the favorite enough to put him out.

The other thing is - Don't steal when he gets short stacked. A couple times you pushed against him with like your 7,5. His only choice is all in or fold, and if all in your forced to fight back with a 7 high. I think you get yourself in trouble when he is short stacked cause he is gonna have to make a stand sooner or later. He was folding enough back to you that you could have kept up the pressure just pushing your bigger hands.

Also - must be nice where the blinds move up that slowly? is that normal for this site? and on what level?

Well sometimes you might find it increases too slowly. HU play in ps take a lot of energy if no one finnally give up and push with random hands. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Blinds of 500/1000 don't leave much room for skill.

all in on last hand, you really think its that bad a move with blinds at 200/400 given this guy was folding to 80% of my PF raises? I agree I should be tightening up given how loose my image had to have been but at that point I can't really afford to wait for a premium hand. At least with J5o I know I'm not going to be dominated if called.

I hear you on adjusting... I normally tighten up immediately after showing a crap hand after getting caught on a steal. For some reason I thought I should just keep the heat on this guy as he looked like he really wanted to blind himself out. The flop 1k bets had to be +EV though... I'm wagering 1K to win 1.2K and I know he wasn't calling wihtout a good piece of the flop (i.e.: less than 1/3 of the time with no PP) He was just playing so straight up that I had to take those...

Anyway, all very good advice.

I think you should have adjusted a bit after he obviously starting picking up on your constant steals. I like to throw in some check raise bluffs once in a while or other check raises with good hands. I didn't see any check raises at all, pretty much 3x BB raise preflop followed up by 5x BB flop bet. If I were him and got a big hand I would just call your preflop bet and let you predictably bluff the flop to get most chips in. I like to fold once in a while preflop to let him know you are capable of doing so. Otherwise, I usually get a lot of counter-bluffs put on me and have to counter-counter-bluff which gets a bit difficult. Also, I like to see how he reacts to a sb complete a couple times to see if he is capable of being trapped by auto raising from bb when sb completes.

I mistakenly thought you had over 25% chips, so it wasn't terrible as i thought. The odds that your opponent doesn't have a Q, K, or A is a little better than 50% (1406/2450 = 57%). I tend to be cocky, thinking i'm better than my opponent, and want the game to last longer rather than risk everything on a hand like J5o. However, you were very shortstacked, so it wasn't that bad. If winning his blind would have put you over 25%, i would have been all for it.
