Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

This is a safe cap based on the action right?
Even on the off chance he has quads, I'm protected to four bets on party, so my play is correct?

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with K/images/graemlins/club.gif, K/images/graemlins/spade.gif. CO posts a blind of $1.
<font color="666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="666666">3 folds</font>, CO (poster) calls, <font color="666666">3 folds</font>, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (7.50 SB) J/images/graemlins/club.gif, 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
UTG+1 checks, <font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, CO calls, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) 7/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
UTG+1 checks, <font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, CO calls, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, Hero calls, CO folds.

River: (10.25 BB) 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">UTG+1 bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 3-bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero caps</font>, UTG+1 calls.

Final Pot: 18.25 BB
<font color="green">Main Pot: 18.25 BB, between UTG+1 and Hero.</font>

I don't cap it. When he raises you and you call on the turn, what were you afraid of? He was saying: "I have a 7." And you said "OK." Then the river hit, and you raised again -- when he 3-bet you, generally he doesn't have a Jack. He's got a 7. I don't mind the raise so much, but a cap is too much IMO.

Without any reads on the player it's hard to say. Against your average party player I probably play it the same, minus the river cap. The turn check-raise scares me a bit, especially if he's loose enough to limp with a 7 other than A7s preflop.

No. and I would especially not like it if it were live with unlimited capping.

it also depends on your read on this dude

I really put him on a set of fives, I thought he was just being sneaky on the turn. Once the third seven hits I actually figured it was almost proof he didn't have it.

Forgetting the river for a moment, would 3-betting the turn be a bad strategy - planning a river check/call if villian capped, or a river bet/raise if not?

Another way of thinking is that, the opponent's raise on the flop is more like, I know you're playing over cards and you didn't hit, so I'm raising with my pair of jacks. But this is really dependent on the read on the player, as long as they aren't LPP, you should be good with the cap.

Good point.

There are also some players who will auto-raise the turn and auto-lead the river whenever the board pairs. If UTG+1 is tricky, you have to be cognizant of that possibility.

Still, I can't recall the last time I saw a non-maniac carry that play through with a 3-bet, so I think he means business here. I'm not capping.

There are players I happily cap and players I stop at 1 raise. It's important to know who you're dealing with.

It's 1/2, as much as I try players are too frequent to read consistently. But yes normally I agree.
