im a resident of tampa,fl. we have a few pretty good games here but all of them have huge rakes.
i wonder if you guys have ever heard of this...
Seminole Hardrock Casino is holding on NOV. 5th a 500+50 max 160 player multi-table. now 40 seats can be purchased for the price of 500+50 ( this now gives the house 2K ). the remaining 120 seats will be won by a satellite of 65+15 through a 10 player sit-n-go ( 120 tables * 10= 1200 * 15= 18K + 2k= 20K on a current 80K prize pool ).
they ran this format for one month and this past month along with this tournament they are allowing one rebuy and one add-on. now this rebuy and add-on are nowhere near the prize of the original buy-in... as a matter of fact it's 100 ( 75+25 ). now i dont know what percentage of the field usually does do a rebuy or an add-on, because i dont like those sort of tournaments, but i can bet by the cheap price a lot will.
now lets say hypothetically 60 players make a rebuy, that leaves the prize pool at 84,500 and the house at 21550. and then lets have 40 players make an add-on, that brings the pool to 87,500 and the house takes 22,350 ( 25.5% ) that is a big victory for the house i say... but for sure way too much for me to want to give to them with a clear conscience. yet despite all of this people run like crazy to get a spot on the satellite and people are buying out tickets for way over the valued price.
now i hear that the WSOP will be charging a 6% house charge and a 3% staff charge on the 10K event... and i have heard a few people kinda sorta complain... i wonder what pros would be thinking about this poorly ran overpriced tournament... they wouldnt come, that is for sure.
PS oh by the way this doesnt include a dealer tip fee.
