Im planing a little trip to some place warm after the first of the year and need some input. Here are my requirements:

1) Nice beach
2) Blue water
3) Cold beer
4) Boat drinks for the lady
5) Fairly cheap (im flying from DC or Baltimore)
6) Not a tourist trap
7) Slighty off the beaten track
8) Not many Americans
9) Somewhere in Mexico or the Caribbean

Let the suggestions fly....

The lady friend was in Belize 3 months ago so i think ill try to avoid it as its a small country and im sure she has seen quite a bit of it. Also, the plane fare might put it out of my budget as im paying for all costs as this will be her x-mas gift. I have been looking at Isla Mujeres, a small island off the cost of cancun. Has anyone been there? If so, any would it meet my criteria?

if we are going by the name of the destination maybe the virgin islands would be a better bet? /images/graemlins/grin.gif
