Had the following hand in a mini-tournament.
I think most people could guess what I (SB) am holding.

Paradise Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t5 (10 handed)

BB (t695.00)
UTG (t1105.00)
UTG+1 (t990.00)
UTG+2 (t1025.00)
MP1 (t1050.00)
MP2 (t795.00)
MP3 (t865.00)
CO (t940.00)
Button (t985.00)
SB (t1550.00)

Preflop: SB posts a blind of t5.
UTG calls t10, UTG+1 calls t10, UTG+2 calls t10, MP1 calls t10, MP2 folds, MP3 calls t10, CO calls t10, Button calls t10, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: (t90) 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 5/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (9 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, MP3 checks, CO bets t60, Button calls t60, SB raises to t120, BB folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP3 folds, CO calls t60, Button calls t60.

Turn: (t450) 5/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players)
SB checks, CO bets t110, Button raises to t220, SB raises to t400, CO calls t290, Button calls t180.

River: (t1650) T/images/graemlins/spade.gif (3 players)
SB checks, CO bets t410, Button calls t410, SB raises to t820, Button calls t45.

Final Pot: t3335

Results in white below:
SB has Ac 5s (four of a kind, fives).
CO has Td Tc (full house, tens full of fives).
Button has 9c 9s (full house, fives full of nines).
Outcome: SB wins t3335.

I got lucky here that two players called me all the way to the river.

The question is - against more experienced players at what point would they have folded and how could I maximise the return on the hand?

I would have folded both hands to the check-minraise on the flop as it absolutely stinks of a 5. The TT actually has the easiest fold because of the button's smooth call, which also has a 5-ish whiff about it. If I were the CO I would lay something like 3-1 that one of those two players has a 5.

To maximise your return on this hand, realise that this is a flop on which you are probably going to get action. Somebody likely either has a worse 5 or an overpair (or a draw of some kind). Lead out with a pot-size bet on the flop. Overpairs might agonise but they will rarely want to lay down to single bets. Just keep ramping up the pain on subsequent streets. A worse 5 will get themselves into a world of hurt raising on the turn.

Being honest, I would probably call as the button if the CO folded. I'd then be in deep trouble on the turn, it's very difficult to get away from the hand then. If I had managed to fold on the flop, I'd probably be cursing on the turn thinking I had folded a winner - then relieved at the showdown /images/graemlins/smile.gif
