AJo on a very loose table

I don't post that often, but this hand left me wondering.
2/5 at Casino Rama at about 4:00 in the morning. The Table is very loose with one maniac (button) raising with anything. 10 Handed. UTG+2 is a solid player

Hero Checks, UTG+2 Checks, MP1 Checks, MP2 checks, Button (Maniac) is about to bet and then says, "Why not? I check too."

Turn: 7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
Hero Checks, UTG+2 Checks, MP1 Checks, MP2 Checks, <font color="red">Button (Maniac) bets</font>, <font color="red"> Hero Raises </font>, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, Button calls.

I think my raise here was wrong, but I felt that if I raised I would get the Maniac heads-up. I thought that no one else would call. should I have just called here?

Bet the river, not checkraise. It's better to try to trap UTG+2 if you can.

Given the size of the pot, I like your turn raise. I'm trying to win it there or get it head's up against someone I've got a good chance of beating.

I like the turn raise a lot, but I would bet out on the river. I like preflop and flop I can see where you are coming from (although if you bet, i wouldn't consider it a crime)
