Just one for discussion.

I had decided to post this whatever the outcome.

Stars $11 PLO8 SNG

Both players have only shown goodish hands to this point, but the other short stack is fearless (willing to draw correctly for Chip EV) and has been the only action since we were five handed about three weeks ago (or so it felt, probably 25 minutes)

As usual, I'm dealt an appalling hand /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Surely, unles you get something ridiculous like 2222, you have to call preflop with anything?

You gotta play that, you cant really rely on the other shortstack to jump to his death to put you into second.

My O8 game is pretty minimal but I think a fold might well be the correct play.

To paraphrase Mr. Sklansky, "you gotta do the math on this one ladies and gents."

Unfortunately it is outside the scope of my ability, but my gut says folding has higher ev.

So Lori, whats the deal here? Let me say that I think your fold was incorrect, prove otherwise...
