Hi All,

I've found a few local tournaments in the local casinos here and am going down later this week to have a shot. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

They have very small buy-ins (£5-£20 depending on the day) and around 50 playeres normally. So this would be excellent for the level I am at at the moment and good live game practice.

Just wondered if anyone has any advice for my 1st live game?

Also, its PL Hold Em, and I'm used to limit or NL (mainly NL but I am moving towards Limit as a LOT of the books I have read and advice I have read on here is related to limit) - Any advice for PL?

I've played a few pot limit games online (mainly omaha though) and it seems to be a nice compromise between L and NL. I'm probably way off on this /images/graemlins/smile.gif

My thoughts at the moment is to play it tight for the first hour or so and always pay attention to the other players actions. I'm thinking it will be easier in a live game as there won't be the distractions that I get when I play online.

Any help will be appreciated!

Cheers,

pootle

I think a lot of people think that Pot limit is harder
to play, and takes more skill. A lot of nolimit players
best move is to go allin when in doubt.

ps If your nervous make sure you throwup in the persons lap
to the right of you and not the person on the left of you
since he or she bets after you!

I suspect that most of these will be rebuy events (you seem to be in UK) if they are you will find that the first hour plays a lot more like NL lots of all ins during the rebuy.

Once you get past that then dependant on your stack size and how fast the blinds move.
