I had the pleasure of meeting Phillip Ivey at The Taj. He played 30/60 stud. It's amazing someone so young can play an excellent game of poker.

I'm not sure if the players at the table knew who he was, because he seemed to have an easy time at taking their money.

Phillip Ivey, about how old is he,and can U give some illustrations of hands that he played, how he played, and the general skill level of his opponents?

There was no objections to your observing this game?

Some players don't like "railbirds" looking over their shoulders.

Any biographical information on this player would be greatly appreciated.

Happy pokering.

. . . in his mid 20's, african american, and he plays in AC. If you do a search for his name in this forum, you'll find a discussion about a hand he was in with Big Stu, and, funny enough, you're in the thread. If you do a google search there's tournament results he was in. Got 6th behind Nguyen and Hellmuth in pot-limit omaha.

Phil Ivey is 1 of the poker pros on the tournament circuit. He's on page 96 of Poker Digest Magazine titled "2002" World Series of Poker"

There is a picture of him in CardPlayer Magazine

Volume 15, No. 7, March 29, 2002

My last name just happens to be Ivey as well. So of course I look for his name in the tournament standings.
