Best thread ever.

Nice. I got a chuckle from that.

People fail to remember that the game was tied at that point. If he catches the grounder, they probably don't get Mookie at first and Stanley pitches with 1st and 3rd to go to extra innings.

Show me a picture of Rich Gedman's passed ball that tied the game and allowed Ray Knight to get to second and then I may have some convulsions /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'm not going to lie. This thread would have bothered me a week ago.

Funny enough, a search on "aaron boone home run" also found this one:

I would also like to point out that Boston was up 2-0 in 1986 as well.

this stuff is so dumb. like 1986 matters at all.

simply put: there is no better position to be in right now for the red sox. they are 2 games into the world series and lead 2-0.

let me repeat. there is NO BETTER POSITION TO BE IN RIGHT NOW FOR THE RED SOX.

that is all.

I've always heard that "Mookie would've beat Stanley to the bag anyways," but that autographed photo shows differently, IMO. Stanley's already given up, and he's much closer to the bag.

Thanks Salty. After getting beat like a rented mule at Foxwoods yesterday, I have to come home to see that on my computer?

About 6 months ago, I watched a replay of that game on Classic sports. As I was watching it, even though I painfully knew the result, I said no way the Red Sox lose this game.
