How sure do you have to feel you've been beaten on the river to fold.

2-4 Game (early on, no real read on players)

Hero BB, dealt 2 /images/graemlins/club.gif 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

UTG Fold, UTG +1 calls, UTG +2 Fold, UTG +3 Calls, MP1 Fold, MP2 Calls, MP3 Folds, CO Folds, Hero calls, SB folds, BB Checks.

5 Remaining, $10 pot (after Rake)

Flop A /images/graemlins/heart.gif 5 /images/graemlins/club.gif 2 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

BB bets, UTG+1 folds, UTG+3 Folds, MP2 calls, Hero raises, BB calls, MP2 calls.

3 Remaining, Pot $23 (after rake)

Turn 8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

BB checks, MP2 checks, Hero Bets, BB calls, MP2 Calls

3 remaining, Pot $34

River J /images/graemlins/heart.gif

BB checks, MP2 Bets, Hero Calls, BB Folds

Final Pot $42 between MP2 and Hero.

Any comments?

Based on the betting, I'm reading BB for an A, with a middling kicker maybe. I'm pretty sure that MP2 found his flush on the river and has me beat. But for 1 bet on the river I can't let it go, can I?

do not fear the flush, the river is more likely to have made someone two pair than a flush since it was backdoor...definitely do not fold this for one bet on the river and i think a case can be made for raising the river...

I wouldn't have the cajones to raise, although I'm sure thirddan is right that a case could be made for it.
You cannot fold here. Many times you will be shown 2 pair here. If I did the math right, you were getting 9.5:1 to call here. You will win here more than 1 out of 9 times.
