10 players left out of 2102 on the Stars 250K last night. There is a $2000 jump between 10th and 9th. We still aren't at the final table yet. There are 5 players per table and I am the shortest stack left. Blinds are 20k and 40k. I have just over 200k and am in the BB.

It is folded to the button who raises to 100K. The small Blind folds and I look down at A9 offsuit. The player on the button has a stack of just over 400k so he has me covered by quite a bit.

The button has been raising every 2nd to 3rd hand since the table got short handed.

What is your play here?

In this tourney at this point, I don't even think it is a close decision putting your life on the line here.

So you push?

Holy jeez....push. I would push on Monday. I would push on Tuesday. I would push if I had eggs for breakfast. I would push if my dessert was a sundae. I would push in the morning. I would push at night. I would push in the midday, just to make sure the world was right.

**sorry, been reading too much Dr. Suess to my nephew, and I'm really not all that good at rhyming**

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I didn't blow it here. I still wound up with just over 3k. Winner was taking home over 80K though. Hurts to be that close and then lose.

He had AK by the way. No 9 came and I was busted. I felt I made the right play but wanted to make sure.

You got unlucky that he happened to have AK. He could have easily had KQ, A5, JTs, 22, etc...You are way ahead of his range.

Agreed, FYI....just got this email from Stars. Apparently a deal was reached right after I busted. How disturbing!!!

I like your play here, but in hindsight this may have been a good spot for the stop and go. What do you think?

I think he would have called either way. If I had a few more chips I would have considered it but for him not to call 100k more after the flop when the pot is that big and he has 2 over cards would have been stupid on his part I think.
