Just to reiterate. Since I'm already into the small stakes forum, and my friend is just starting to play at party .5/1, I will be postings hands of his I find interesting while reviewing his sessions. I would love to hear advice on what I should tell him.

I honestly think this is a grossly overplayed AK. It seems like he's behind. I know there are micro players who will play this aggressively with Kx, but there are a lot of likely "X's" that the board would have paired, and the villian shows no signs of slowing down. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I think that winning a hand like this results in a bad habit. Of course, winning is nice, but against aggression of this magnitude, I think my friend needs to slow down. Agree? Disagree?

Uhhh.....YEA!!!

First 3 streets are okay. Call me a whimp but I'm check-calling that river, and if I somehow decide to bet and then get raised I'm not 3 betting in a million years.

Your friend has raised preflop but is still faced with a raise when the K hits. I would slow down, maybe already on the turn (no 3-bet) and for sure on the river which I would check/call

I don't think the 3-bet on the turn i wrong, although the cap is scary...My guess is that MP2 has got two pair. I would check-call the river

I'm with AVF2k1, villian's probably got K9.

wow he loves ak. tell him to slow down after the raise by the villain on the turn.

AGREE that it is grossly overplayed.

Actually I think hero's turn 3bet is more or less standard here.

I think the villian's flopped a set. He was waiting for the expensive streets to pop your friend.

i can only see you winning with this if the other player is a total maniac. he may very well have won, but the times you lose in this situation are much greater than the times you win.

I think it's fine right up until the river with no reads. I'd guess he lost to a slowplayed set.

PF/Flop/Turn - I like.
River - I'm bet-calling. An overplayed KQ/KJ/KT might play the turn the same and I think a K9/K7 would bet or raise the flop.

That being said, this is a pretty standard line for a slowplayed set.
