Just got 60th in the $30 Party tourney, had JJ go down to AQ when I had a decent stack, if I win that pot I'm thinking final table for sure, so I'm still a little upset about my last 2 MTTs now, as I got 85th in the Party Super THursday, trying to redeem myself.

Im out in 363rd, I flopped a set of 9s, turned the boat, but the small blind smoothcalled a raise wtih QQ and busted me as he had top set and top boat. He checkraised the flop, didnt put him on QQ at all.

Didn't know that was you. I just limped with Q's to see a flop of AAT and a K on the turn. Oh well.

We played at the same table once in a VIP-freeroll or something I think....but we were only together for a couple minutes.

I'm clinging for dear life after my AA (smooth-call PF..yuck) ran into a set of 6's. Kind of embarassed by that play. That's what you get for getting fancy with AA.


My AJs just held up though and I doubled my 280 to 560.

David just doubled-up to 1600 against the big-stack's QQ (i think). Was tempted to see a flop with 77 on that one but it was already raised and cold-called....I folded, and then David pushed all-in....and I'm glad I saved my 60 chips

Right after that I was moved to another table (or maybe our whole table broke up...don't knpw).

I'm still at 515.

Just lost a large chunk of my stack to a very weakly played 2 pair, of course, my 2 pair was smaller. At 330.

It's pretty cool, but I knew that guy had K's or Q's so I just pushed with my AA, figured it would look fishy. It worked. I have 1690 going into the first break.

Flop T92 with 2 spades. Pot is 200, I bet 300 and get called by EP. Uh-oh.
Turn is Q....I check, he bets small and I call.
River is K for 2-pair.....I push my final 200 and pray he doesn't have a J (for the straight).

He calls with AA and I take it.
He also said some cuss-word something or other about the river.
Nice try dude....that pot was yours whenever you wanted it.


My AA got busted by 66 earlier....and now my KT busts AA.
Everyone else's AA seems to be holding up okay though (including David's).

Blinds were escalating, and I had gotten unlucky a few times. I have T855 (T100-T50 blinds) in LP with AK diamonds and push. CO dares to calls with JJ. The nerve of some people... /images/graemlins/tongue.gif JQx Q...flop and turn and I'm done.

BB defends with T6s.
Flop comes 2 spades, he checks, I try to push him out (I'm down to 900 afterall) and he calls and hits his flush.


Maybe I should have let my stack dwindle down more before stealing with crap.....but you can't wait forever....and my initial read was correct that he was defending with garbage.

I might just push with 33 preflop and only 12x the BB, but it's close. It's not exactly stealing when you have a pair. And absent any activity and other callers/reads, I'd raise any pair with your stack. It's really hard to get good confident hands preflop and you need to somehow build your stack up.

Was crippled by guy with 77 who called two big semibluffs by me with a J on the flop (I had overcards + flush draw and missed).

Then pushed my last 265 into the 50/100 blinds and my JJ ran into QQ. Oh well.

Despite busting far from the money in my first effort at Empire, I can assure you that I will be playing this one regularly.

Huge overlay + players who probably couldn't cut it at Party = AWESOME!!! /images/graemlins/cool.gif
