Hello,Stud Players,

At what poker limit(s) do most players play with their ego's instead of using rational thinking in playing their hands??

Just curious.

I would have to say at the lower limits cause at the higher limits they wouldn't last long enough for you to notice.

Although there are usually a few at all limits.

I'd actually say the most common time is when a player moves up to a higher limit and has his way for a session, or fraction of a session. Then the ego hits.

Hello,Players,

I recently read an article by Roy West about"ego" players.

StoneCold and West both agree on when this happens.

In particular,West says it happens when players move up from 10-20 to 15-30.

At the 15-30 limit, one will find the most number of "ego" players.

Thought it was an interesting article and wanted your opinion(s).

Thanks for sharing.

Happy pokering,

I'll have to be wary of this since I just moved from 10-20 to 15-30 and have started off as an overall winner.

Hello,Dynasty,

I would be interested in your evaluation of your opponents in an on-going basis in your 15/30 games(s).

Please keep us posted.

Thanks

Ps If U were to compare 5/10,10/20 and 15/30 players, which game limit so far,in your opinion is the toughest to beat.

Ah, I'd say 15/30 is WAY tougher to beat than the lower limits. I just moved up to 15/30 a year ago, and WOW, my first session was a brutal wake-up call.

After consistantly doing well in the 5/10 and 10/20 games at the Mirage, I tackled the 15/30 at Bellagio one memorable Sunday afternoon and got totally crushed over an 8 hour session. The play was a lot more aggressive, although some players were just horrible. There were always 2-3 good players in there who seemed to be hyper-aggressive, but always seemed to have the goods.

It gets better, but I'd have to say that the 10/20 is a whole lot easier to beat than the 15/30. It's a different animal.

Hello,ADV,

Ty for your I/P.

How many Hrs. have U logged in so far in your 15/30 game and your 10/20 one's?

Is your hourly rate so far better in the 15/30 game(s) than in the 10/20 one's?

WEll, this year, I've logged zero hours in each simce I've not been in an actual b&m cardroom this year. However, last year and the year prior, I was a much bigger winner in 10/20 (close to 2 BB/hr). I was an overall loser at 15/30 the year before, and a very small winner last year, but the hours sample is way too small to be accurate. I'm not properly bankrolled for 15/30, so I've not taken too many shots at it.
