Is there any rule-of-thumb to estimate when you are ready to move up a level in NL (assuming you can afford to)?
Something like "if you are regularly wining x times the Big Blind".

When you have the bankroll for the next level and you feel you will make more $ per 100 hands than you are at your current level.

when your monetary bankroll and your psychological bankroll are comfortable with it.

Just because you think you can beat it doesn't mean you should move up. Being able to handle bigger swings is a very important factor.

I agree with Bunky's reply.

Also I remember reading somewhere a long time back that Mason said that to prove you're a winning player you need to win at your current level for about 100 hours.

This probably applied for live play, not online though so less hours are probably required for online play.

When you do move up, ease your way into it by playing just one table to get used to the larger bets and get a feel for the game.
