should I have played this river a lot differently or just a little differently?

i think i just call on the river. i get the feeling he slowplayed a monster. you have any reads on him? if he is a lag, then i cap. otherwise, i cap the turn, and call the river.

Slowplayed? Oh, you mean the single flop call and not all the raising that followed... /images/graemlins/smile.gif I would cap against a LAG and bet the river and call a raise otherwise.

exactly. slowplaying of flop, then raising like hell on the turn when you see a possible hit draw is the most common form of slowplaying i see. i really don't see any value in capping this river against a non-lag. maybe he has a smaller flush, maybe trips, but more often than not, i will be shown a boat when this river gets capped.

I'd likely raise the river but hold back on the cap. When he 3-bets the river I'd be worried.

I would bet the river and call a raise, I don't like leaving yourself open to either a check behind (pretty unlikely but possible) or a 3-bet (which really makes it look like you're not going to win).

Oh, sorry, didn't see the board was paired. Like everyone's saying, bet/call the river.
