Hand 1: I fold. Is that weak tight? I'm thinking not, but it's painful to not get paid with a high pocket pair. There is a POSSIBLITY that he's semi-bluffing with a straight draw. I thought about it for a while, and just decided to be a bit weak. I think this had something to do with Hand 2, though.

Hand 2: CO has 77 and takes down the pot with his flopped set. MP2 had KTo, so I have no idea what that guy was doing.

Argh - it's probably a bad beat story (well, not exactly as he was WAY ahead when I went all-in). I guess it's more of an on-tilt story.

I basically had to get up and leave the tables (I was 2-tabling) at this point in time before I got really stupid or something.

Ok, I haven't looked at the results yet.

That format makes it a little tough to sort out the action.

Hand 1- With the posters and the limpers, I don't think your raise was enough. I'd make it $1.75 or $2. I like your flop bet and your fold to the raise.

Hand 2- Given your decription of MP2, I believe you should have re-raised enough to set him in preflop. If the maniac likes his hand enough to raise a quarter of his stack, he'll have no trouble calling off the rest of it.

The min-raise on the flop puts you in a tough spot, especially if you trust your read that the CO is steaming. With the way the action has gone down, his min raise probably deserves a little more respect than normal. I'd have bet more on the flop, around $6, to let him know I'm serious.

Since you opted to just call preflop, your hand hasn't been defined, which makes this flop decision more difficult than it should be.

hand 1 fold.

hand 2, it looks like you lost when he reraises your checkraise.

That's actually what I was looking for. I think I fried a circuit or two thinking, "I'm on a downstreak. Oh, look, Aces! Time to get PAID!" And then going WAY too far with them.

A sane person would realize that their check-raise got raised, and goes, "Wait a minute..." Ack - need to learn discipline. (But not too much "discipline" where I get weak.)

I think your reply is what I needed.

You let CO in beind you when you only smooth called the raise. That looks like a pretty costly move this time.

I don't think that aces should be slowplayed at these limits.

Hand #2's more painful, but I dislike the play of Hand #1 a lot more. If you're going to raise from the blinds, you should usually raise more than normal or not at all, since your position will be so bad. Either take a flop cheap or get it heads-up... what you want to avoid is what happened here, playing a big pot out of position. Given that that happened, the bet on the flop is a suicide mission. There are just too many people to hope that no one has a king or better
