So they are saying that the Cards are better than the Yankees? I guess that is probably about right. It is Wake in Game 1, Schilling 2, Pedro 3, and Lowe 4.

[/ QUOTE ] This looks a lot scarier than it did last week.

For who, Sox fans or STL fans?

Cardinals are probably a more fundamental team. They can squeeze out runs in a tight game. They have a great lineup, a solid bullpen, and they're pitching isn't bad, though not as good as the Sox can be. Sox pitching came up big. Cards should be afraid, but if it's tied in the 9th inning of Game 7, I'm taking the Cards, every single time.

STL fans. Those four pitched very goog games 4-7.

The Cardinal starters have done pretty well too. And Boston's rotation has plenty of questions, and is somewhat in disarray after a long and tough series with NY. Pedro hasn't looked great, Schilling is a huge question mark no matter how you cut it. Wakefield and Lowe? Good, but both capable of getting shelled.

What type of bet did you make with Dynasty?

Good luck in the World Series.

When I grew up the Mets played in the same division as the Cardinals. In 1985 the Cardinals denied the Mets a trip to the pennant series by winning the division. The year before we lost the division to the Cubs. Back then baseball only sent 4 teams to the playoffs.

The Cardinals had good teams back then. The Mets did not.

I still wonder how many more championships those Mets teams of the 80's could have won if half of the team did not abuse alcohol women or drugs. Ok edit the women /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It will most likely be the cards toughest series. Obviously, I am rooting for boston. So, I am very biased. The question is which manager will make the stupider decisions.

I just noticed I said Goog, haha

Yeah you are right, the STL SP has been pretty good too. Both these teams look so evenly matched, with a slight edge going torwards STL in regards to D and maybe lineup.

And don't forget St. Louis has hit him well in the playoffs before. Few years ago, but it still matters.

Well, I think it is very fair to say these are the two best teams in MLB. It should be a very good series.

I agree. Before the playoffs began, I picked these two teams to play each other in the World Series.

So this means to bet on the red sox you put up $140 to win $100 right (no bookie)? I'm looking to put like $300 on the Cardinals with someone here who I know is reputable.
