I figured I'd need the straight by the river to win. (i.e. I'd get caller(s) on flop and probably flop an overcard. So I check/called until the river hoping to catch the straight. Comments?

Raise that flop. Put the preflop raiser in awkward situation. You may be able to get him to incorrectly call with his overcardcs if that's what he has. If not, you protected your hand.

Another reason, you have an overpair and an OESD, raise for value dude.

I think the river fold is fine, but I despise your flop call. With this preflop action, I would raise any flop that leaves me with an overpair, and some when I have 2'nd best pair (if i had a read on the bettor). This flop is the best you can hope for. The turn cold call is either/or in my opinion. I wonder if anyone thinks it is mandatory.

notwithstanding an 8 on the flop, this is as almost as good good as it gets (a rainbow board would be better, i think). raise the flop, for value and to protect. fold to the turn 3 bet as it appears that you may be drawing on the river for a 9 of which the 9C is tainted.

Raise the flop. Since you did miss a flop raise, a turn raise would have been perfect with that card.

But the river fold looks fine.

this flop is a mandatory raise.

after you didnt raise the flop, the turn is a mandatory raise. the river fold is fine.
