Should I have played this differently? Both players were loose with UTG+2 being aggressive and MP2 being passive.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/club.gif.
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, <font color="CC3333">UTG+2 raises</font>, Hero calls, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds.

Flop: (7.50 SB) 3/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">UTG+2 bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, MP2 calls, UTG+2 calls.

Turn: (6.75 BB) 3/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
UTG+2 checks, <font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP2 calls, UTG+2 folds.

River: (8.75 BB) 4/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, MP2 checks.

Final Pot: 8.75 BB

3 bet preflop and bet the river. thats all.

Not sure I understand why.

Why 3-bet with 99 from mid position?
As for river bet, after he called bet on the turn, I figured him for the Q.

I think this is a big leak in my game. What am I missing here?

I think the 3-bet is to get heads up, with position, on the PF raiser. Facing 3 cold, MP2 probably wouldn't have been in this hand.

i raise 99 from any position. just learned this trick but it works very well for many reasons detailed in other threads. the raise in this case to try to get the original raiser heads up. i bet the river becuase this guy has been passive the whole time. he may just have a middle pair.

Stop being weak. You had a read. UTG+2 is aggressive. 99 figures to be way ahead of him most of the time. Bet the river, because you are ahead a lot here as well.
