Party 2/4, relatively loose-passive. Three limpers, I raise A /images/graemlins/club.gifA /images/graemlins/spade.gif on the button.

Flop comes 6 /images/graemlins/heart.gif7 /images/graemlins/heart.gifT /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

Bet-raise-reraise...

Cap, call or fold?

Hmmmm
Mind says fold, heart says cap /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I guess you are drawing to 2 outs...

This is a passive table, so I fold here. Not too many passive tables go bet-raise-reraise with a pair of tens.

small pot, lots of aggression, so muck

why are you playing 2/4? learning to play >4 tables?

You know the answer if they are really loose-passive as you say. Dump it.

Yeah, hated this hand. I think the fold is right the vast majority of the time. Turns out, AT won it.

I four-table much of the time, but mostly I'm just looking for the best games. The 3/6 and 5/10 were all rocks when I was looking around - the 2/4, obviously not so much.

Cap it up. See what the turn brings, and how they react.

I cap reluctantly and hope for AT and a FD, cross everything.

This is a nightmare. It's could get expensive to get to a showdown where you're behind most of the time. Also, if the 3-better is passive like you say, would he really 3 bet with only 1 pair????

They could also be 3-betting draws. I'd hang around, and if the turn is not a straight/flush completing card, and if they settle down a bit, I'd bet again.

This is a classic reverse implied odds scenario. First of all, you're not likely to be ahead. Secondly, even if you are ahead, you're going to have to dodge a lot of draws to be best at showdown. This combination makes a fold on the flop correct.

it is very safe to say that calling is not an option

if the table is truly loose passive, i think that folding is the right answer. the tables i am normally playing at, I would have a hard time not capping.

my default would be cap and see turn action.

calling the flop 3bet would be ludacris because you have done nothing to slow the turn action in a situation where you dont know where you stand. you could be well ahead, you could be a little ahead, you could be far behind, you could be a little behind. so if you continue the hand, you dont want much turn action. you would have to attempt to stomp it out on the flop.
