I don't think that's the reason though - at least not for the 2001fp monitor sales.

The reason for the recent Dell sales is that Dell has to make their fiscal numbers for Wall Street. Their fiscal quarters end in January, April, July and October. Dell has the habit of making fire sales to boost their numbers in these months.
