Not sure if this is the right forum, but where do casinos get their tables from. All the searches is do come up with the same tables that you wouldn't even see in a casino or some schmuck saying "casino quality" with his home made table. So my question is if I was starting a casino and wanted to order tables, where would I go?

I think some casinos build their own. I hear talk of building tables but they might be talking about assembling a table after it is delivered.

Most casinos have an in-house construction department or a contract with some furniture maker. The craps and roulette tables usually come from some gaming supply house that only sells to the industry like T.R. King or TCS Group.

I wanted to build a table that was identical to a casino table (heavy, no flex, full size) so I asked the poker manager at the Borgata who did their tables and he introduced me to the head of their maintence / construction department. He let me watch when they re-felted a couple so I got to see the frame well enough to dupe it.

Can you give me a idea of how they do it? There are poker table forums (http://www.scottkeen.com/forum/) that give pics on how THEY do it but it just doesn't seem right to me and I build them differently. So I was just wondering how the casino tables are constructed.

The main difference is that you start with 2 pcs of 9 x 5 3/4" plywood and glue and screw them togther to make a 9 x 5 x 1.5 inch table top. Then cut to shape. You then take another sheet of 3/4 in and cut the 5 inch rail out. They use a steamer to bend a 1 x 2 hardwood pcs to the contour of the table, thne nail that to the rail top. Then cover.

The result is a massive table that when placed on the cast iron mounts goes nowhere.

Imperial Palace built their own tables when they opened up. The results are mixed. Some of the tables have a hump in the middle, but they are big enough to seat 13, so a full table isn't the slightest bit crowded.

But how do they make a rail that is removable and accommodates a "slide under" cup holder? That’s where my dilemma is.

Those rails are usually seperate pieces that fit over the table, and sometimes have screws holding them in where the dealer sits. This is ore like a blackjack table for ease of felt changing and cleaning.
