View Full Version : What should be done with stallers?

I was in a 101 player NL multi-table tournament. When it got down to two tables (tourney pays 1 table), there was a person stalling every couple of hands taking a full minute plus for each of those stalling decisions. Everyone complained but nothing was done. This person had an ok stack, but it was apparent he was making sure the blinds would escalate with fewer hands played and/or letting the other table bust out players to ensure he gets into the money.

What should be done about it? I've seen several "solutions" written about it, none of which are completely satisfactory:

1) Put the clock on the staller each time it's his/her turn
2) Go hand-for-hand

Can a staller be penalized in some fashion? What are other people's experience with "human rain delays"?

Hand for hand and/or a clock should be used in this case.
