This is a stars 5+.50. The villan in this one was playing passively heads up. I didn't put him on a bigger ace, was this as bad a call as I think it was? Thanks.

Neither do I...you're either dominated or 70/30. His stack is way to large to justify calling that IMO. How can you not put him on a bigger ace?

I think I just talked myself into believing it. He had begun chipping away steadily at my big stack and I guess I tilted. What's the max all-in raise would you call with this hand here?

I don't have time to do the math right now, but if you say he's being passive, I'd put him on any pair, KJ up, A6 up. You played with him, just adjust his probable hands as you see fit, find out your win% against a random hand selected from that grouping, and use that number to determine your max call. If you use my assumptions, you're folding to all but the smallest stacks.

Anyway, when I raise A2 4x BB against a solid player and get pushed back all-in I basically tell myself I now have 72o, as he's only pushing back with a hand that has me smoked. That normally helps me chill out and make the right decision.

Ironically, I think I'd rather have 72o in this case given your read.
