I think I may have played this too timidly. Just took a huge pot from Button, so I assume (wrongly?) that he's being more selective about his hands thereforth. BB is playing shorthanded, folded many hands, so I assume he's only playing good-great hands...

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (6 max, 4 handed)

Hero ($108.35)
BB ($44.80)
UTG ($45.85)
Button ($75.30)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, A/images/graemlins/club.gif.
UTG folds, Button calls $1, Hero completes, BB raises to $2, Button calls $1, Hero calls $1.

Flop: ($6) 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif, A/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif (3 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $2, Button raises to $4, Hero calls $4, BB raises to $10, Button raises to $16, Hero folds, BB calls $6.

Turn: ($42) 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
BB bets $10, Button raises to $57.3 (All-In), BB calls $16.80 (All-In).

River: ($126.10) A/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: $126.10

yeah, i'd say you got scared off too easily. i would be content to get all-in for 75 big blinds when the pot was 6 bb's on the flop. the most likely hand to beat you is BB's AA, but those are the last 2 aces in the deck, so that's not too likely. realistically, 88 is the hand you have to fear, and i'd be surprised if it were out there. i'd expect to see AK from BB and maybe 78 from the button. i would have bet out (with the draws, and hoping the BB would raise AK/AQ), but given the check i would c/r.

this huge pot you took off the button - did he play it reasonably?

mmm, he was on a 4-flush after the flop and i put him all-in with my set of 10's...i think that was a bad play on his part...

actually, looking at it now, it looks like he did play it reasonably? I was just trying to protect my hand after the flop and i didn't think he had J-9, but completely missed the flush draw. I don't think I would've played it differently, but with 2 cards to come, if I were him, I don't think I'd play it any differently either...

First hand: I would have probably folded when you did considering the stack sizes.

Second (flush) hand: I think you played it very well, provided you think he will call, which he did.
