I don't have the hand history but here's how it went down.
Me : KK
Caller 1 : QJo
Caller 2 : JJ

I bet 5x BB preflop mid level tourney, and I get these two callers. Flop is Qxx, double suited. I go all in right there to try and take the pot down. Both call, and I'm feelin good. Turn is a rag, river is a J.

Flop : Qxx
Turn : Qxxx
River : QxxxJ

Two pair and Trips to beat my KK... $50 tourney! These guys weren't even shorstacked, and JJ had me covered, QJ went out too.

That's your idea of a really bad beat? You haven't played enough poker.

The worst bad beat ever is approximately a 980:1 shot. It can't get worse than that in hold'em poker, because that is what is known as perfect-perfect. Yours is a lowly 43:1 shot. Not to mention you hit your 22:1 on the turn. Oh and in case you didn't know, a 43:1 shot means that you're supposed to lose one time in 44. Quit whining.

The worst bad beat ever is roughly 20 times worse than the one you posted, just to put things in perspective.

not to be nitpicky, but isnt it an even worse 990:1?

Yeah, and since you're being nitpicky I'm going to be nitpicky and say it's really 989:1.

To be even more nitpicky, it's actually a little less if you consider that for the beat to occur your opponent has two cards that you don't need. So if you consider your cards and your opponents, it's 902:1. That's why I had 43:1 for the river on the one outer rather than 45:1.

i thought i was right. isnt the fact that you would win once in 990 times expressed as 990:1. i might just be temporarily retarded. but i know that there are 990 possible outcomes and 1 way you can lose, so is that 990:1 or 989:1?

One time in 990 is 989:1. If you're 4:1 against on a draw, you'll make it one time in five.

Sorry for posting bad beats, I know you don't like to read this, but posting it somewhat eases the pain, don't know why.
