Not only do I need a new cell phone, but I also need to upgrade my monitor situation. Right now I'm running one Norcent 17 inch LCD monitor that is barely capable of displaying 4 tables, with lots of overlap.

What are my options here? I don't mind spending a good chunk of change to get the best setup possible. As I understand it, 1600x1200 is the highest resolution out there right now, at least that is not stupidly high priced...should I wait a bit and see if monitors with better resolution come out? Should I go to dual monitors, or find one massive monitor?

BTW, due to space restrictions, I cannot use CRT monitors.

For $1300-$1400 you can get dual Dell 2001FPs.

For $1500 you can get a really really nice 23" LCD that has 1920x1200 widescreen.

IF I had unlimited wealth, dual 23" would the route for me.

The best option probably is the dual 2001FP 20" LCD. I would go dual because play 4 tables of poker and run PT and chat on IRC and browse 2+2. I am a huge multi-tasker so multiple monitors is awesome for me. You might just want to go for 1, 2 is only if you need it.

Nice, I'm also buying both new cellphone and monitor(s).

My research has narrowed it down to two options.

Dell 2001FP 20.1in - on sale from Dell for $736 to your door (3 to 5 day shipping) in California.

Samsung 213T 21.3in - $999 + tax - 100 rebate at Best Buy = $985 out the door in CA.

Since the Dell is currently $200 off, that looks to be the clear way to go.

Just received the Dell last week. Looks good so far. Note if you want the sound it requires a $50 add-on.

I would go with the dual dell 2001FP option.

If you check fatwallet.com or gotapex.com they sometimes have coupon codes for the monitor to get the price as low as $650 per including shipping and tax(for AZ at least). I'm still waiting for them to drop below $500.

Apple's 30" Cinema Display optimum resolution is 2560x1600, enough to 9-table with overlap on only the chat boxes. The first time I saw one in an Apple store I was completely in awe. It's an absolutely gorgeous monitor.

I hope you haven't made a purchase yet Diablo, as I think you can do waaaay better in terms of price, at least on the Samsung. I just picked up a 213T last week, for ~$625 after $100 mail-in rebate . . . www.techonweb.com. (http://www.techonweb.com.)

Btw, it's a kickass monitor /images/graemlins/cool.gif

You replied to a post 5 months old, giving advice on the prices of the monitors. Obviously the price of the monitors has dropped since then.
