Cap the river if he lets you. The only thing that beats you is AT/T9.

You just 3 bet preflop, you have to bet the flop.

Tell you what. If the guy has balls enough to cap you with AT, T9, or 2 clubs, give him your 8 bucks, he deserves it for being psychic.

You missed the flush which UTG+1 probably caught. Betting the flop might not have forced him out, (after all this is Party), but it would have made him pay.

I have given up on slow playing sets. I get burned too many times. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I don't think 3-betting preflop is reason enough to bet out on the flop. Normally, being first to act with 5 more behind you, I think someone bets often enough to make going for the check-raise a good play. But, in this situation, you've got almost all the K's. This is why I think you should bet out on the flop. If you had a set of Q's, I think check-raise is good.

I completely agree. I think he has the flush here infrequently enough to make re-raising a higher EV move than calling.

Were you going for the check/raise on the flop? I don't like giving any diamonds a free card. EDIT: nevermind, huge pot, they'd have called anyway and rightfully so.

Given the turn action, is he a LAG that would cap with a flush draw? I probably would have 3-bet him on the river after that turn action and hoped he would cap.

I'll go ahead and guess he hit a set of 7s or two pair. Button had crap and was resigned to his fate at the end of his bankroll.
