From what I can gather, a troll is one who makes bad posts intended solely for the purpose of stirring up trouble rather than being productive? Also, is this an internet term as opposed to a poker term? Thanks.

it is an internet term. i am not too familiar with message boards, this is the first i have ever been on, but a troll here is someone who does just what you said. or they have an agenda behind their actions, they provide nothing and are extremely irritating. they can be found in the Zoo(the internet forum) if you want to see them in action.

It's an internet term; however, its meaning was derived from a fishing term.

Troll
TRANSITIVE VERB: 1a. To fish for by trailing a baited line from behind a slowly moving boat. b. To fish in by trailing a baited line: troll the lake for bass. c. To trail (a baited line) in fishing.

i had never even considered that definition for troll...... i always thought of

Yeah, it was a poor attempt at humor. I tried, it wasn't good enough, but I left it anyway. I just tried to be a typical example of a troll. to kind of put a 'face' on it.

but at least I tried.
