Is EmpirePoker and PartyPoker the same site?

I had Empire and Party up at the same time and they both had identical number of players. I don't think this is a coincidence. Anyone else notice this? /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Seriously though...Empire and Party take you to the same back-end servers. Ring games are shared, however tournaments are not.
