- 80 BB in 1k hands... usual or not? Cause for concern? Anyway I feel like i'm in free fall. Taking a break for the evening as I know i'm tilting because every bad beat i flip off my monitor and yell obscenities whereas normally i just sigh. Anyway this is a fairly worthless post... say what you want.

It's 6PM on a Saturday night, any respectable individual should know several bars/restaurants with a good happy hour to start the night, then move up to a bigger bar when you feel comfortable with your tab.

If you're still playing 1/2 party thats not a massive swing I think its about the biggest I had in 10k hands though but no doubt its just plenty of big suck outs, etc. Also it was followed by a 1 day run of 150BB so yeh you know it all balances out.

Yesterday, I had my biggest win ever in an evening: +$2,162.52 playing 5/10 6 max.

Today, I had my worst loss ever: -$1,653.51 playing 5/10 6 max. That's a -165BB downswing, folks.

Isn't variance great?

So I feel your pain. The 6 max games are very swingy. Just try to remember it's all one session. Also, keep in mind variance actually is good. If bad players never won, we'd have no games.

Good luck. Hope it turns around soon.

I don't want to dissuade you from taking action to improve your play because you may be on tilt, or have some serious leaks that need patching. But, those swings happen to everyone. My worst was -320BB at party 2/4 over the course of 10k hands.

I have found that my up swings have an edge over my ruts.

Out of 512 sessions:
1 -75BB
9 -50BB
11 +50BB
1 +75BB
---------
22 'swing' sessions @ +150BB

I do however tend to play short sessions of 1-2 hours.

As a winning player I would be worried if that was not the case.

Looks like we can bitch safely here /images/graemlins/smile.gif.
Ugh. -65BB over 500 hands. Not a pretty run. But it happens. I've only been back playing 5/10 for a month and a half, though, so I'm going to get all nervous about swings like that until I've got 30k or 40k hands under my belt and absolutely know that I'm a winning player /images/graemlins/smile.gif.
