Anyone else watching this? Old man Clemens is already down 1-0 on HR from Walker.

And your point is?

I have it on, and it looks like the Rocket has some boosters behind him.

Do I need a point? I was just making a thread for game 3, and pointing out the action in the game so far.

I like St. Louis' chances in a slugfest.

We'll see what happens..Go 'Stros!

Houston is leading again. Garner better bring in Lidge for the 8th and 9th, assuming Clemens gets through 7 innings.

Go 'Stros!

I'm surprised this game's turned into a pitching duel after the first couple innings. Lidge would scare me more if he had more postseason experience. I predict a choke.

Lidge should scare you regardless. I am surprised too however...both pitchers are pitching very well, especially Clemens.

I told Clarky they were gonna hit a lot of home runs.

No wonder in that stadium. Edmonds HR looked like a routine fly ball when it came off the bat. I couldn't believe how easily it sailed out.

I'm still sticking with Cards in 5, as I think they're going to get to Oswalt early tomorrow.

He's made himself a few extra bucks in the last two weeks.

Eh, Cards still win this one in 5. I never thought the Cards were going to sweep.

P.S. How are the Sox doing? At least the 'Stros had their ace to bail them out, who's going to bail Boston out? Lowe? Wakefield? /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yup, old man Clemens did pretty damn good. He goes with just his fastball, usually, for the first 2-3 innings without even showing the splitter. (I liked how the announcers used the old term "forkball" for the pitch.) Then he baffles 'em with the splitter. An inspiring performance by Clemens.

So much for respect for what is likely the best starting pitcher in the NL. Got to respect the Astros for creating good starters. They had a few bad breaks this year but even Backi and Munroe are servicable.

"An inspiring performance by Clemens. "

I wasn't very inspired. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Meanwhile, Suppan did essentially exactly what he did in LA, only he gave up one more run and did it in 1 fewer innings. He pretty much rolled after the first. Bad way to give up the winning run to Kent after being up 0-2 in the count. Ugh.
