View Full Version : 6-8 tables on 1 monitor

I'm currently a small stakes player on Party/Empire($2/$4-$3/$6). I play 4-tables at a time without overlap on a 1600x1200 resolution laptop monitor. I am strongly considering adding 2-4 more tables for a total of 6-8 on 1 screen.

I have a few questions. Is this course of action reasonable? Will I be sacrificing substantial EV by not being able to see all the tables at once compared to playing on 2 monitors? Can anyone give me some advice on how to set-up my tables optimally for 6-8 tabling.

Finally, if anyone wants to jump in and tell me that 6-8 tabling is a bad idea etc I'm happy to listen.

Thanks for the help.

Spend the dough on a 21" monitor that supports 2048x1536 at a decent rate. They're decently cheap these days.

6-8 tabling is a bad idea.

I'm not usually one to jump in, but if I can make someone happy it's always a pleasure.

I've done up to 7 on one monitor at 1280x1024 but I play lower limit o/8 where cards are more important than trying to outplay opponents. The only trouble I have is if I'm playing on a site where the poker window doesn't grab focus when it's your turn to act. Paradise does this so I hear a beep when it's my turn but don't know which of the 3 windows I need to bring up.

If you play ABC poker I don't see that much of a problem doing it but definitely consider getting a second monitor. I'll probably get myself one of the big Dell 2001's for christmas.

POnks does 12 I think on one monitor. I do 6 pretty regularly. Only piece of advice I think is important is to make sure that no actino buttons overlap anywhere as that would cause costly misclicks as windows pop up...

No way. I was positioning my windows last week and clicked raise in the SB with some cheese like J/images/graemlins/club.gifJ/images/graemlins/heart.gif3/images/graemlins/spade.gif6/images/graemlins/spade.gif in o/8. This is a hand that's barely playable in the BB in an unraised pot. Needless to say I hit a jack on the flop and filled on the turn and took down a 28 BB pot!

Misclicks rule.

Ultimate Bet, Prima and Labrokes all hve mini views that allow you to play extra games.

Three UB windows are the same size as a more normal 800x600 alowing a comfortable 6 tables.
