My friend played this hand and when asked what his play was I told him to lay it down. Was I wrong? I think in any higher buyin tourney there is no quesiton about it but I don't have any experience with stars low buyin tourneys.

Everyone is going to say fold ... Man, I'd be tempted to call. It's less than 1/4 of your stack and still has you either at the top or very close to it. If you have the best hand, you knock out THREE players. Of course, the odds of beating all 3 are slim. The more hands, the less likely your ace is going to be enough.

Is this during or after the rebuy period (and when)? This is important.

with that size stack i would be inclined to give it a shot if it were a re-buy

I do not believe it was a rebuy
