View Full Version : Don't you love it when....

First hand of a small buyin no limit event, I get dealt q-jo on the button.

5 limpers to me, I limp too.

Flop comes j-q-7 with two suits, one of which was in my hand.

I go all in to prevent anyone from calling on a flush draw. What happens? Someone calls on a flush draw after everyone else folded.

I really hate losing like that. At least show me a set!

The stack sizes are of great importance. You are not folding this hand under any circumstances (unless money is *really* deep)...in most circumstances (when money is *really* deep and you have very good reason to suspect you are either up against a set (most likely sevens) or a big, big draw (open-ended and flush draw).

If the stacks are fairly large, why go on all-in? Suddenly you lose action from hands with very few outs to beat you. True, the flush draw is making a bad call (I assume your all-in is overbetting the pot), unless it has overcards (runner-runner exist, like it or not) to go with a gutshot, but the flush draw would be making a bad call if you just bet the pot too.
