View Full Version : Question on Sklansky's Modified All-in Tournament System

A friend of mine and I were applying Sklansky's Modified All-in Tournament Strategy in an Online Tourney yesterday and it worked fairly well until there were only 5 players left. At that point, there aren't enough players at the table limping or left to act to put any meaningful restraint on the hands that we were supposed to be moving in on.

Does anyone have any idea at which point (8 handed, 7 handed, etc) this strategy starts to unravel and a person should deviate and just play their game? Is this system only designed for a full table?

Among other problems with the system, it isn't designed for online tournaments (other than maybe very large buy in). It gets very easy to exploit (with minimum raises) when shorthanded.
