It's Olerud man, you have to atleast fell happy for him.

It's Olerud man, you have to at least feel happy for him.
He's a turncoat mother[censored], and I don't have to feel anything for him but contempt. The real class act is Edgar Martinez, and he wouldn't be caught dead in pinstripes.

If the M's had cut Edgar, I'd be surprised if he went anywhere but the Yanks

Here, I'll laugh too....

HAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Not only is there no basis whatsoever for your claim, but it is flat out offensive to all those who know and love Edgar. May you die of gonorrhea and rot in hell.

Think you're taking this a bit too seriously?? IF the M's had released Edgar, and there is no way that I would have expected them to, why would he go anywhere else but to the team that had the best record in the A.L. and therefore has home field and the best chance to win a World Series??

This argument is pointless, as the M's would have never released Edgar in the first place.

I don't blame Olerud for anything. There is hardly a player in baseball who has a sense of history that wouldn't want to don the pinstripes if they had a chance. We as fans hate them, but if you're a player who wants to win, and George offers you a bucketfull of cash to finish out the season with the team, wouldn't you?

That's exactly what I was saying, or at least what I was thinking if I didn't say it

The Dude, for the sake of discussion, what do you think Edgar would have done if the M's had cut him and somone offered him money to play?

Dude, what are your thoughts on Junior Griffey and Gary Payton?

I was at the press conference when they announced Griff was going to be traded. It was weird.

Actually, when it was clear the Mariners would have no shot at the post-season, management offered to trade Edgar to a contender so he could finally get a chance to play in the World Series.

Edgar turned them down saying he wanted to finish his career in Seattle.

Edgar is a class act, no doubt about it.

This thread isn't about El Diablo at all.

no kidding, its about John Olerud. Whenever he hit a HR at M's games, the crowd would chant "OLE, OLE OLE OLE, OOOOOOOLEEEEEEE." I figured that since he hit one in game two I would do this thread.

I know that. I lived in Pullman when John was at WSU. My grandfather played Organ for the Cougs so I saw a lot of his games. One of my favs. Still can't root for him as a Yankee.

And threads with titles of OLE, should ALWAYS be about El Diablo.
