Review this hand - I thought I could out play him on the hand, I didn't expect the four flush board. Do you think I could have made any more, or was I crazy for playing it like this (at all?). My reason for even calling without hitting the board was that I've found in a lot of cases when people insta-bet they are bluffing, hoping their opponent has not caught anything. Hence my raise on the turn when I did pair my seven, his call was a bit interesting, but when the four flush came.....

What's with all the min raises?

if you thought you had the best hand you didn't raise nearly enough on the turn.

I dont like the raise preflop, I dont like the min raise on the turn, and I dont like the weak value bet on the river.

Preflop: If you are going to steal riase to 450 or 500, otherwise limp.

Calling the min raise is fine.

Calling the flop is fine - you have nearly the odds to hit your gutshot.

Turn, If your read is your opponent has nothing you are better off calling - your hand has showdown value. You decided to raise - raise to 1000 at least.

River, You are betting 3rd pair into a 4 suited board with straight potential to a player that has bet and called a raise. Horrible - this is a clear check behind.

So your opponent called you down with AK - 95% of the time you are going to get checkraised the hell out on the river, or pushed on the turn etc. etc. Try not to be results orientated.

That does require explanation:

I had a very hard to read table image imo, min-raising with Kings, calling with Ace's, over betting with a pair of 5's. Raising with trash and showing the bluff. The minraise was really intended to get someone to toss their weakness as it had happened a number of times previously when I did it.

So your advice would have been to check along with him on the river rather then the weak value bet?
