I am planning a week long trip for the first or second full week in December. Destination: seeking $5-$10 limit or thereabouts Hold'Em game. Travelling from Detroit. Vegas? AC? Foxwoods? Biloxi? Other? Stay at home and play at Greektown? /images/graemlins/confused.gif Any suggestions? Thanks.

At the end of December Tunica will be gearing up for the World Poker Open stop at Horseshoe. A lot of player come early so expect a LOT of action. Of course it all depends on when your coming in December. In general Tunica is a poker hot spot year round so I don't think you can go wrong either way.

I love to play at Tunica but if you've never been to Las Vegas, you should go to Vegas. If you are going to live in the poker room, it won't make much difference, but if you want outside activities or sightseeing, Vegas is better than Tunica.

I should have mentioned I have been to Vegas and since this is a December trip I don't figure much for sightseeing. My brother is going with and we were thinking of mixing in some golf though. Any further advice on Tunica? It looks interesting...

Thanks, Triple.

The Grand has a golf course, RV park, you can shoot sporting clays, and they have somthing or another for kids but I don't know what it is. They have like three seperate hotels.

I usually stay at the Gold Strike, they have a good poker room rate. It is walking distance to the Horseshoe and I plan to play at the Horseshoe on my next trip.

Mostly Tunica is cottonfields and casinos.

Vegas. December. Average high = 57F. Desert = dry, not necessarily warm. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Feels pretty good sometimes compared to
Southern Indiana. Ohio should have a very similar climate unless you are north.

I was in Vegas once in January wearing jeans and a light sweater out in downtown. People were looking at me funny. As they walked by in winter parkas they would say "you must be from the north." It was about 50 degrees. A nice evening! /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

We were in Pheonix AZ once and got up to a fine mist of rain, barely enough to use the wipers. We went to breakfast and all most everyone wanted a window so they could watch the rain.

Vegas baby. There are imitators, but no equals.
