View Full Version : Bet size after a limp or a raise

I like to bet 2-3x BB when I am first in a pot, but am still unsure as to the best way to handle a bet if someone has either limped or raised in front of me.

Should I bet the minimum reraise? or now go with a pot sized raise? or somewhere in between?

I don't have a specific example, I'm looking more for the general theory. I know that the better my hand, the more I don't mind callers, so my raises can be lower, but still significant enough to where most people will release their junk hands.

I especially am unsure about 55-99, after a 2-3xBB raise and after 2 or three limpers. Should I raise here? Or call and go for the set (folding if I miss)?

Thanks

this is wayyy too dependant to stacks/hands/players to answer. I usually add 1x BB to my standard raise per limper, and re-raise around 2.5x his raise under normal conditions.

You're right. How about this... early and middle stages of a 500+ player tourney. No where near the money, blinds are still relatively small vs stack sizes...
