Yeah, I agree. The Astros won a postseason series and will probably go all the way. Too bad Boston will lose to the Yankees as usual, but of course you expect that anyway so it's really no big deal, I guess. Glad to see you so pumped about the Astros, though, daryn.

I'm sure they said that in 86, too, right around the time Henderson hit his home run.

just like last year was the cubs year when they were up 3-1 in the NLCS.... just like it was the cubs year in 1984 when they led 2-0 in the best of 5 NLCS. I speak from experiece... dont count your chickens before they're hatched.

there's always next year,

After 43 years it’s about time the Astros did something. What's your pro-Dick-shun for the St. Louis Series EL? Astros in 6 or 7 games? Your team has a chance, better than the Dodgers, but still I think they will come up short. The Cards are pretty good. So unless Tony really screws up it's looking grim for the Astros. I did predict that the Astros would beat the Braves - I just don't think that they can beat the Cardinals without having home field advantage and a better bullpen.

As much as I hate the Yankees, I love the BoSox coming up as the Yankees' bitch every year. Either way, I at least win a little bit. Ultimately, my hatred for the Yankees wins out and I hope the Sox win. I can't wait to watch Steinbrenner unload on the whole organization. Then again, it would just be absolutely perfect for the Sox to lose in extra innings to an A-Rod or Jeter home run. Holy [censored] if it happens on a Buckner-style error. Add to all this perfection the potential for "Who's your daddy?" to be the official chant in any circumstance involving the Sox or their fans and it's really hard to choose.

By a while do you mean that your entire life you've been thinking that 2004 was the year.... or just since last night?

Edit - I now see this thread happened over a week ago. And Lazy decided to bump it.

Where were you last night in the Official Game 6 thread, no posts at all. Were you afraid to jinx them?

And those teams are scary. Red Sox show a lot of heart here though. A lot of heart. But I still think the Cards and 'Stros are monstrous.

The Foxwoods poker room is a great place to be during a Sox/Yankee penant race. I found myself playing more and more hours up there in August just because I loved being able to watch both games at the same time and commiserate with other fans.

I love a lot of things about California now that I've moved out here, but I miss faded Red Sox caps and "Pokey would have got it" bumper stickers.

And NESN.

The rough equivalent of a limp-re-raiser c/ring you the flop, c/ring you on the turn, and which point you put it all in on the river and win.

I was there for the game when Varitek tooled on AROD. It was awesome. I'm getting the chills right now. I wish I was home in MA right now!!

Daryn, anymore hunches?

I want the Astros. I want the sox to knock Clemnens around Fenway like they did the last time they played him.

I think the city of Boston should line up and suck off Johnny Damon and David Ortiz, and some others!
