From the SB, if there's no raise, I'll generally play any 'ol trash in hopes of flopping two pair or a rediculous straight or something. I'll generally call a min raise from the BB as well for the same reason. I figure I'm already halfway invested, I might as well see a flop? Maybe? Does this kind of play have any sort of positive expectation?

First is this limit or no limit, however in general you should not play any two cards in the small blind, though of course there is a wider range of hands that can be played.

Again you shouldn't play every hand in the small blind, especially easily dominated hands, that can cost you when you hit top pair. You can loosen up somewhat and play more suited connectors and one gappers. I think I complete around 35% according to pokertracker.

Think of your SB as ante, and not as "you're already invested in half a bet."

My VP$IP from SB is anywhere from 2-5% greater than my normal VP$IP. In NL especially, you have to realize your position sucks and that alone will cost you plenty of money down the road.
