I have created, with the help of Lee Jones, a RGP vs. 2+2 NL tournament on Poker Stars. The date for the event is Saturday, October 23rd at 7pm eastern. The entry fee is $30+3. The name of the tournament is RGP vs. 2+2 and the password is RGP2P2.

The scoring for the event will be based on a point system. The team with the lowest amount of points will win. For example, if there are 50 players the person who finishes last will score 50 points for their team. If there are an uneven amount of players between the 2 teams than the highest scores will be removed until we have the same amount of scores for each side.

This tournament was set up with only the best intentions involved. THIS IS MAINLY FOR FUN. Of course, there will be some money on the line as well as bragging rights. There will be a lot of quality players in this tournament. It should be a lot of fun and hopefully something that can grow into an even bigger event. I have talked with Lee Jones and he has said that if we can get a good turnout then he will consider adding "extras" to any future events that we may have. I hope you guys will accept RGP's challenge. May the best team win. Thanks.

Bring it on!

*Note- I'm changing the tourney name to RGP vs. 2+2 users

*This is not a sanctioned 2+2 event. This is all in good fun.

These tournaments that are using our name are doing so without our permission. Lee Jones and Poker Stars should know better than this.

These are not Two Plus Two functions. We do not endorse them and we assume no responsibility for them in any way.

The use of our name by various sites is a sure formula for problems in the future. I ask that this be stopped immediately.

The tournament is being cancelled.

Just to set the record straight, we have no objection if a poker site offers a tournament and allows or encourages posters from this site to participate. But if the tournament is not a Two Plus Two function, this needs to be made clear and it should not be presented as if it is a Two Plus Two function. As I have stated elsewhere concerning these events, if they are presented in a way that makes it appear that we are either involved or at the very least have given our nod of approval, it is a sure formula for problems sometime in the future.

Best wishes,

Mason

it is "RGP vs. 2+2" not RGP vs. "Two plus Two" You do not own copyrights to 2+2

I'm not going to get involved beyond this one statement, so no use responding to my post if you are directing the responce at me:

How do you know that Mason does not have 2+2 copywritten? At the top of this forum is a bold title that says "The 2+2 Forums", isn't that enough?

A statement that decleares an RPG vs 2+2 tournament would be mistakenly percived as a sanctioned event by the majority within the poker community (who are aware of two plus two), and therefore any reasonable person would agree (as Lee Jones must have) that it would be an abuse of the intelectual property rights of Mason's company.

Simple sollution, call the tournament something else, and invite 2+2 forum members to challenge RPG forum posters. Problem solved.
