I'm in, table 14.

On a side note, some guy who finished in the top 3 in one of these the other night just went out.

He made it T35 and got raised. Just the 2 of them. Flop came Queen high. He ended up calling allin with QJs. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Out in 517th when I have AK, flop 2 pair, and some dumb**** calls a bet on every street with JTo and spikes a Queen on the river.

Tyler Durden
10-07-2004, 09:54 PM
I'm out in the 500s.

Two limpers for 20 to me on the button, I make it 80 w/ red KK. First limper calls. Heads up.

Flop QQ6 two/images/graemlins/heart.gif. He checks, I bet 150 into a pot of 210, he calls quick. Yikes.

Turn offsuit Ten. He checks. 500 in the pot, I go all in for 515, he calls instantly w/ AT/images/graemlins/diamond.gif and rivers a Ten.

WTF???

Nice job earlier today jslag.

That's too bad, Tyler (and beachbum).

Well done earlier today. I'm sure we'll meet at a final table again. 1st & 2nd next time though.. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've got 1685 at the first break.

Only 1 significant hand. Flopped a straight on the first hand from the button against an EP raiser who bet out. I gambled that he had an overpair and raised the flop but he folded. Nothing much after that.

Chief911
10-07-2004, 10:05 PM
Down to 1530 at the break.

Had an interesting hand where I flopped a set of 4's on a unicolor board (Of which I had none). One bet of 100 and I raise to 300. Get called. Turn is a 4th club. Check Check. River doesnt pair the board. Check check. He has a set of 2's with a club to take down a nice pot. Gah!

also out in the 500's 4 limpers blinds are 20 so I make it hefty to knockout the rift raft 140 or 150 preflop with with QQ spade and club flop is KQ5 all hearts he bets the minimum and I put him all in for 1k more. He calls with KJ NO heart draw, turn is a J river is K and my nite is over.

Please criticize my play, especially the turn. Didn't think the villain was real bad or real good. Put him on a possible set, or flush on the turn.

On the turn should I have pushed in since 400 was half my stack and I wasn't going to fold to a raise anyway? Or is this amount ok, since he improperly called the 400? Is this where it's better to win this big pot right now with the all-in on the turn? (Sorry, hand converter isn't working for me)

I don't think you really misplayed it, the guy just got very lucky. You already mentioned the only thing I'd suggest, which is if you suspect he's drawing at all, just move all-in on the turn. Of course, you don't really mind most of the time if he calls you with JT. Tough beat.

Two limpers, I finally get a decent hand -- 99. I raise to 900, then the button re-raises me to 3200 (has me covered). I fold, and am back down to 4292 after a steal. Grr

durron597
10-07-2004, 11:26 PM
I think he called because he had the flush draw, too. He called with 13 outs, and you bet 400 into a 780 pot, so he was getting 1180:400 or correct odds to call, assuming you don't have the Queen of Diamonds. Just push next time /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, I played a real big pot w/ AK where I knew the guy had 2 outs... got there, and I looked him up on the river anyway. Then, AK runs into AA and I manage to go from 10k to bust in about 10 minutes.

Out in 59th. Pushed ~7K with 400/800 blinds from the SB with 78o. Got called by big stack with A7. Whoops...

jslag
10-08-2004, 12:46 AM
Good game cferejohn. We should get a drink sometime. PM me if you're ever headed into the Mission.

I'm actually surprised he called 6-7k more with only A7o...

jslag
10-08-2004, 01:25 AM
I'm out in 37th. I opened up in EP with AQo for 3k. Folded around to the BB who moves all in and has me covered. It's about 10k for me to call, and my instinct said it was a coin-flip/race. I put him on a worse Ace or a pocket pair... I think I made a poor decision, but I wanted to get a bigger stack and actually get a top 10 finish so I called.

He turns over JJ. Flop is xJ9, turn is a K giving me a straight draw, but the river is a counterfeited Q.

Overall, I'm happy as I had two money finishes today in bigger buy-in tournaments.

Che is still alive....

If anyone is still awake, boedecker is heads up for the whole bannana. Ouch just lost an all-in pot w/A9 v.s opponents AK. He had a big lead though, so he's not too far behind...

cferejohn
10-08-2004, 04:22 AM
...and he wins it! Got his chips back by getting all-in with A6s v. 33 and winning the race. A couple hands later pushed with J7s, got called by A9(?), and his his flush on the turn. If he had lost, he still would have had the lead (other player had about 140K of ~700K).

Congrats to boedecker!

[/ QUOTE ]

He is implying that Red has a horseshoe up his/her ass ie. that he is lucky. Sure he got lucky on the final hand, but really the play of the game was his call of the flop raise then the push on the turn. That got him the chip lead and allowed him to absorb the A9 v. AK loss, then come back to win after he won the coinflip.

Awsome. Your ballz are not only red hot, but solid brass. That was the play that got it for you, I thought. All the other big hands that I saw pretty much played themselves (that is, if your cards had been reversed, you probably would have done the same thing he did and vice versa - ergo no real "skill advantage").

Must feel nice. I still remember being chipleader with 3 to go before flaming out...
