One-table satellite play at Foxwoods for the World Poker Finals (http://www.foxwoods.com/Gaming/Poker/Tournaments/WorldPokerFinals.htm) begin on October 18th. I've played dozens of SnG's, but the only winner-take-all tournaments I have played are the Act II's (played in 3, won 1).

I plan on playing in the $500 NL and $1K NL tournaments, and while I have some backing, I plan on winning at least one satellite to cover the $1K event.

The format:
10 players, $110 + $15, winner gets $1000 in lammers and $100 in cash. We start with T1500 and blind levels are 15 minutes long (25/25, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 150/300, 200/400, 300/600 etc).

I tend to be an extremely aggressive player and am wondering what the best "speed" is to come out ahead after a handful of satellites.

1) What are the primary differences between a typical SnG and a satellite?
2) Is it better to "wait it out" for a premium hand, or start trying to build a stack from the beginning? (ie, limp with middle connectors, etc)
3) Is deal-making allowed and what advice would you give on it? Top 3? Top 2?
4) Do you recommend letting people knock each other so you can be there at the end to make a deal?

Any general strategy advice or thread/resource recommendations would be welcome.

There are no prize strucutre implications. Therefore, chip EV and $EV are the same. Pot odds decisions become much more important.

I see no problem limping from mid and/or late position. But those blinds increase fast enough that you better stay away from it in early position, and refrain when they grow large.

I think that's dependent on the casino. For a satellite, I doubt they allow dealmaking.

I'm not sure that's relevant. Don't forget, in a sattelite, 10th and 2nd are basically the same. Don't fold decent edges early because you want to survive.
