I'm calling it now, this series is over.

Houston, you aren't getting out of the first round, again. You can just see how tight they're playing, and if they lose this game, I think it's going to be a crushing blow.

I like a lot of the Astros players, but man, the Braves just have their number in the playoffs.

I'm rooting for Atlanta and Minnesota. I'd like to see Clemens get touched for 6 runs in the first two innings and then get taken out by a come-backer to the forehead.

That would make me happy. Even though he plays for the 'Stros now, he will always be a Yankee in my book.

Astros up now 4-1. Inspired by my post, the bats came alive.

I'm replaying his final double-play ball/limp to first in my head constantly. It was unfortunate he couldn't manage to scrape out a hit in his last game. The crowd tried to will the ball out of the park on the long fly out he had, but to no avail.

Since Houston gave him such a big lead early on, Clemens will almost certainly be pulled after he pitches through the 5th. Can you say "Clemens starting Game 4"? Go 'Stros baby!!!

Truth be told, I hate the Braves, and made my post in frustration after watching the Berkman error/general flatness of the 'Stros in the first inning. If this reverse psychology of counting them out early helped in some cosmic karmic way, then so be it.

I've always liked Bagwell, and I want to see him win a series.

I have alterior motives for rooting for them as well...I think the Cards will crush them in the NLCS if they matchup there.

Today for certain the Astros were the better team. Winning game 1 is big. Winning game 2 will be bigger.

Go Astros. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

When did you become a 'Stros fan???

Anyway, what is up with ESPN's announcers? Not a single person on their play-by-play team or on SC has ever pronounced Carlos Beltran's name correctly. It's Bel-TRAN, not BEL-tran. It took them almost 2 seasons to start sayin Oswalt correctly. Pisses me off.

an asian with curly hair??? I thought I was the only person who knew a curly haired asian... does his face get bright red when he drinks?

The Dude

Not only his face, but his arms and legs get red blotches after 2 beers.

He can win one series. It just can't be against the Cards. It'll be a lot easier for the annual Astros collapse once they have the pressure of winning a series off their back.

I liken it to the T-Wolves this year in basketball. Finally won a series, and regardless of whether they should have won the ensuing series, their playoffs were a success since they finally made it out of the first round.

I hate the Mets, and I'm not a Cubs fan, but for some reason the Astros don't bug me much the years the Cards have been out of it.

IMO, in a five game series, game 2 is the big game. Somebody always wins game 1. If you fall down 2-0, you're in real trouble (don't tell Oakland).

Likewise, I've always felt game 4 is key in the seven games series.
