i recently came to realize that a lot of my re-raises, if not all-in's, often enough put me pot committed to a third bet or even a rag flop. i have recently been trying to put more emphasis on the math behind my re-raises and when it be most logical for me to move in based on how many chips id have left after the raise, what my position is on the player, how many chips i would want to fire out on the flop if that amount might pot commit me, and obviously also the quality of the cards. now all those factors have helped me improve my decision on when to re-raise and by what or move it in. now what im wondering is if there is some sort of mathametical consensus on when you should move it in... for example if the initial raise was for 1/4 of your chips if that re-raise there pretty much means all-in.
